Art IS in the eye of the beholder

Journal Entry: Fri May 9, 2008, 7:15 PM
I uploaded some of my previous work... I like it, but is it art to share? Or art to keep in case you want a new wallpaper on your computer?

So I have been stuck in the hospital for two whole weeks. Let me tell you what this does to a person, makes them crazy. I dont have my cameras, but I also have no artistic medium here... I have my laptop, but not much software on it (Winders vista that I use for a couple reason, know your enemy I always say).

So, I am going through some photos I took that I really like, but are they worth putting up here? They are not really like my usual black and white Holga photos, some are crisp color, some are colorful blends and perspectives that are unique.

As an artist I believe you should push yourself into listening to others critique. Even though I may be better suited to the black and white haunting photos of my Holga, and my newest toy the brownie, I like reaching out with the digital and capturing something my eye sees.

SO! I am going to share some of these photos in a moment... sitting in the hospital I need somehow to reach out and connect with other artists today, so this is my attempt. I want feedback, raw feedback. I want to be told the truth, I would like to grow as an artist while I am here... I figure nothing else good is coming out of this two week hell trip to the VA hospital, might as well use it as a teaching lesson art wise...

Also, I wish I could seperate my Holga photos from the color digital photos, they are so very different, stark really... it tempts me to create a different name on here to keep them seperate... if I could create a seperate group for the non Holgas that would work... is there a way? I will dig around, I havent looked much, let me know if I missed something though please!

So I am asking everyone... please provide feedback for me. If you would like me to do the same just let me know, I have some time in here... much is spent getting poked with needles and tests, but I prefer to return the favor if it is at all possible : o ) I will try my bestest, even if I am slow!

oh, I love Holga groups, but are there brownie ones out there? I would love to get into some other brownie geeks... since I am new to the brownie thing.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your taking time to feedback

Thank you so much, I have always loved being behind the camera, but I am an amature, I am good with my Holga, but I am learning about HDRI work to do with my digital. I keep looking around this site and hoping I can come in half as good as some of the talent here...
