This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I think artists actually see the world differently. Until now it might have been used as a figure of speech, but I really believe it to me true. I get so many comments from friends about how amazing my photos are, yet we were in the same spot and we all had cameras, why did I capture something special and they capture something so every day? Because artists, amateur like me, or professional like so many of you out there, see the world through different eyes.
Some see beauty in darkness, in the cemeteries or dark streets. Some see passion in the human form... some sketch anime, paint a scene from their dreams or describe a vision using words that burn images into our minds.
Different tools with one thing in common. The ability to share what we see with those that don't see it on their own. I love looking at the artists on this site and seeing the gifts they leave for us all... for the artist and those that just appreciate art.
My mothers partner one day made fun of me for taking a photo of a tree. The tree is in my album as "Naked Tree". When he saw my photo he commented on how much he liked it and thought it would make a nice print in their home. He didn't see what I saw at the time... only after it was put in front of him as "finished art" did he understand why I took the photo.
So, thank you to all of the artists that help me grow by leaving feedback. Thank you to the artists that share their art with the world. Its opening a part of us up, a part that for some of us is vulnerable, and sharing it knowing that it might bring comments we don't want to hear. I appreciate everyone that shares their passion with the world.
